School tax 0,07899 $ per $100 for 2026-2027 (CSSRS); the CSS de l'Énergie states this rate applies to all school service centres and school boards in the province ('taux unique', Loi visant l'instauration d'un taux unique de taxation scolaire). 2026 service charges: water 219,08 $ per dwelling (1 to 4 dwellings) and wastewater 288,35 $ per dwelling (1 to 4 dwellings). The school tax applies only to the portion of the uniformized adjusted value that exceeds $25,000 ('Depuis 2018-2019, tout propriétaire d'un immeuble imposable est imposé sur la valeur de l'évaluation uniformisée ajustée de cet immeuble qui excède 25 000$'), so the two rates cannot simply be added for a bill. Sherbrooke also bills flat per-dwelling service charges (water, wastewater), which are not on value.

Rates as published for the residential class. Bills can also include fixed charges, local improvement levies and utility fees that are not based on assessed value.

Sherbrooke compared with other Quebec cities

Compare two cities

Sherbrooke's total residential rate of 0.7723% is above the 0.7228% average of the 35 Quebec municipalities we cover. A lower rate does not always mean a lower bill: tax = assessed value × rate, so cities with high home values often have lower rates.
