City-wide residential rates (in $ per 100 $ of taxable value) applied on the first issue of the 2026 annual tax bill, from the Ville de Montréal open dataset "Imposition annuelle de taxes municipales" (TAUX_IMPOSI column, published as $ per $1; multiplied by 100 here, e.g. 0.004631000 -> 0.4631). These four rates are identical in all 19 boroughs. Every Montréal residential bill ALSO carries borough taxes (services and investissements) and, in most former-city sectors, a tax for the debts of the former cities; these vary by borough/sector and are listed in areas (no single headline borough). Municipal rates apply to the "valeur imposable ajustée" (roll value with the étalement / phase-in measure). School tax rate is 0,07899 $ par 100 $ for school year 2026-2027, applied to the valeur uniformisée ajustée after an exemption of the first 25 000 $ (CGTSIM). Agglomeration charges are paid through the taxe foncière générale (quotes-parts), not as a separate line.

Montréal's total residential rate of 0.6346% is below the 0.7228% average of the 35 Quebec municipalities we cover. A lower rate does not always mean a lower bill: tax = assessed value × rate, so cities with high home values often have lower rates.
