Headline = Lindsay (main urban area), residential: 1.573877% including education, from the City's '2026 City of Kawartha Lakes Tax Rates as a Percentage, Including Education' sheet. The sheet publishes only the combined rate per community and the education rate (0.1530% residential); the municipal component shown here is the published total minus 0.153 (not a separately published figure). Rates differ by community because police (Kawartha Lakes Police Service in Lindsay/Ops vs OPP elsewhere), fire (full-time vs volunteer) and special-area levies (e.g. Lindsay Transit, streetlights, parks) are area-rated. The City notes the sheet 'is provided as a reference tool only and should not be used for the basis of legal transactions'. 2026 budget levy increase 5.9% (2.9% general levy, 2% infrastructure levy, 1% area-specific services: policing and transit). Per the City, Lindsay properties share a $600,000 increase for Lindsay Transit's 2025 deficit, and rural OPP-served properties include a $900,000 OPP adjustment (2024 provincial cost reconciliation and 2025 deficit). The Lindsay BIA row applies only to commercial and industrial classes.
