Your assessment in Norfolk County

How assessment works in Ontario

Assessed by: MPAC. Valuation date used for 2026 taxes: January 1, 2016.

MPAC assesses all properties. 2026 taxes are based on fully phased-in January 1, 2016 current values. Owners of residential, farm or managed forest property who disagree must first file a Request for Reconsideration (RfR) with MPAC; the deadline is March 31 of the 2026 property tax year (or the deadline printed on your notice). If not satisfied with MPAC's decision, you can then appeal to the Assessment Review Board. Keep paying your tax bill while an appeal is pending. For a significant change to your property (e.g. demolition or fire), you can apply to the County for a tax adjustment under section 357 or 358 of the Municipal Act, 2001.
