Taux particulier de la catégorie résiduelle 0,6112 $ par 100 $ (Règlement PC-2998, adopted January 22, 2026, in force January 26, 2026); same rate for the sous-catégorie des immeubles de six logements et plus. First year of the 2026-2027-2028 roll. City brochure: average single-family home 767 700 $, municipal taxes 4 692 $ (+140 $, +3%). Cross-check: MAMH 2026 prévisions budgétaires file shows 0.6112 for Pointe-Claire. Pointe-Claire levies a single taxe foncière générale; its share of Agglomeration of Montréal costs (police, fire, transit, water production, assessment, etc.) is paid out of this general tax as quotes-parts, not as a separate line. Water is billed separately by consumption (not on value). School tax 0.07899 $ per 100 $ for school year 2026-2027 is applied by the CGTSIM to the adjusted standardized value after an exemption of the first 25 000 $, on a separate bill; it is shown here as a component but the exemption means it is not a straight rate on full value.

Rates as published for the residential class. Bills can also include fixed charges, local improvement levies and utility fees that are not based on assessed value.

Pointe-Claire compared with other Quebec cities

Compare two cities

Pointe-Claire's total residential rate of 0.6902% is below the 0.7228% average of the 35 Quebec municipalities we cover. A lower rate does not always mean a lower bill: tax = assessed value × rate, so cities with high home values often have lower rates.

2026 due dates

  • February 26, 2026
  • May 25, 2026

The municipal tax bill is mailed in January. If the amount due is less than 300 $, it is payable in one instalment by February 26, 2026; if it is 300 $ or more, in two equal instalments due February 26, 2026 and May 25, 2026, or in 12 monthly instalments through the City's pre-authorized payment plan (PPA). Under the by-law, monthly PPA instalments carry interest (10%) and penalty (5%) charges on instalments after the first, which the by-law says represent 4.3766% of the annual bill. If an instalment is missed, only the overdue instalment becomes payable. Due date reminders are not mailed. Water is billed separately (residential water tax bill in September, by consumption at 1,4774 $ per m3 in 2026).

Late payment: By-law PC-2998: overdue amounts bear interest at 10% per year calculated daily, plus a penalty of 5% per year of the unpaid principal calculated daily (15% per year combined).

Look up or pay your bill

Create a free account on the City's Voilà! platform to view and receive municipal and water tax bills online, see account statements and balance, and get an email reminder for the second instalment. Registration needs the invoice number of the last municipal tax bill and the first-instalment amount (or the transfer duty invoice number and amount). The City's Water Tax page states that choosing to receive the tax bill exclusively in electronic format gives an annual 5 $ rebate.
