Your assessment in Whitchurch-Stouffville
How assessment works in OntarioAssessed by: MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation). Valuation date used for 2026 taxes: January 1, 2016.
2026 taxes use assessments based on the January 1, 2016 valuation date (the province-wide reassessment remains postponed). Owners who disagree can file a Request for Reconsideration (RfR) with MPAC (online through AboutMyProperty or by mail); MPAC states the RfR deadline is March 31 of the 2026 property tax year. Residential, farm and managed forest properties must go through RfR before an Assessment Review Board appeal. Separately, the Town accepts applications under sections 357/358 of the Municipal Act to cancel or reduce taxes (e.g. property unusable for at least three months due to repairs, change of use, fire or demolition, gross and manifest error); section 357 applications for sickness or extreme poverty go directly to the Assessment Review Board.
